All middle and high school students are invited to our TAC Meeting each month at the Sarbanes Branch in Downtown Salisbury. TAC meetings are a forum where students’ opinions and suggestions are heard. TAC members provide feedback on programs, assist with planning new programs and events and are library advocates. TAC members earn 1 service learning hour for each meeting attended.
Brief History
TAC has been meeting on a monthly basis since November 2008. The ideas and opinions of TAC members have guided teen programming and activities over the years. The teen anime/otaku club, open mic, and Marvel movie night are just a few of the programs suggested by TAC members.
TAC = Summer Reading Success!
TAC input is essential for summer reading planning. Teen prizes, gameboard activities and programming all take into consideration their ideas and interests. Several teens have led summer reading programs such as Teen Drawing Club and Poetry Workshop.
Volunteer Opportunities!
Teen volunteer opportunities are discussed at TAC meetings. Several members have given back to the community by crocheting scarves that we make available during cold weather. Teens have also earned service hours by reading ARCs and writing reviews that were shared on our social media.
