Born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, Farah Yahya came to America in 1990 after obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Saint Joseph College. She worked as a Project Supervisor for Lynch Homes in Willow Grove, PA, managing group homes for those with physical and mental disabilities. Farah and her family moved to Salisbury, MD in 2001, where she was able to represent the Muslim community at town hall meetings, Q&As and panel discussions, and work with interfaith environmental groups. Farah has also volunteered for Salisbury City events such as Salisbury Marathon and Salisbury Folk Festival. She has maintained steady support and work for local city shelters and held positions on numerous advisory boards and planning committees.
