Event Details

Due to the potential for inclement weather, the Black Local Entrepreneurship: Then and Now program, originally scheduled for Saturday, February 22 at the Charles Chipman Cultural Center, has been postponed. A new date will be announced soon.

The Charles Chipman Cultural Center and the Wicomico Public Library – Paul S. Sarbanes Branch are excited to present a program showcasing Black-owned businesses, past and present (1950–Present).

This program highlights the rich historical legacy of Black entrepreneurship that has inspired future generations, demonstrates the ongoing struggles against systemic barriers, and celebrates the efforts toward economic empowerment within Black communities. Join us to explore stories of resilience, progress, and the continuous pursuit of economic equality in Wicomico County.
