Centre Branch Meeting Room Use Policy

The Centre Branch of the Wicomico Public Library (WPL) has a meeting room for cultural, civic and informal educational purposes. There is no charge for nonprofit groups or for Centre at Salisbury tenants for use of the meeting rooms during regular Library hours, providing they do not charge admission. Businesses, banks, corporations, and other for-profit organizations may use the meeting room during regular Library hours for a fee. The fee is $25 per hour, 2 hour minimum, and $12.50 for each additional half hour. Payment for the meeting room must be received prior to gaining access to the meeting room. In case of a cancellation, we ask that advanced notice be provided.

To assure fair access to all, we request that you abide by the following rules:

Reservations must be made by an adult and must be confirmed by a Library staff member. The Library will need notice of cancellations.
One organization may use the meeting room facilities no more than 12 times per year and reservations may be made no more than 6 months in advance. Attendance at authorized meetings may not exceed the room capacity of 30 persons.
Rooms will not be used for personal or family use.
The Library may inspect any meeting room at any time for purposes of safety and security and to ensure compliance with meeting room policy.
The group or organization will be responsible for the setup and arrangement of the meeting room for their meeting.
Groups of children or teenagers must be supervised by one adult for every ten children.
Smoking and the use of alcoholic beverages are not permitted anywhere on Library premises. Food and drinks are not permitted. Use of the space for retail sales is not permitted.
Any display materials must be removed and areas must be left free of litter. If there is damage to the room that will necessitate professional cleaning, the cost will be passed onto the organization or group that used the room.
If it is necessary to borrow Library equipment, it must be requested on the meeting room application form. If Library equipment is used, the person who booked the equipment will be held responsible for any damages to the equipment or loss of the equipment.
No group or organization may list the address of the Wicomico Public Library or the Centre Branch as its mailing address.
Meeting room will be cleared and locked 15 minutes before the Library closes.

The Library reserves the right to refuse any booking request that does not comply with this policy. Authorization to use WPL facilities does not reflect endorsement by the WPL of the general or particular program, position, or purpose of any persons or organizations. WPL may preclude any use of Library facilities that may interfere with regular use of the Library. Failure to comply with WPL directives outlined in this policy may result in canceling future use.
